Black parents in the U.S. suffer from many unacceptable hardships, including inadequate healthcare, obstetric violence, infant mortality caused by racism-induced stress, and state surveillance through the child welfare system. The ÈâÂþÎÝ Chapter of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice is hosting a Black Maternal Health Panel and inviting reproductive justice advocates to speak about their work.

Speakers include:

Tammy Boyd, Chief Policy Officer & Senior Counsel for Black Women’s Health Imperative

Jasmine Brock, Family Defense Staff Attorney at Brooklyn Defender Services 

Dr. Sascha James-Conterelli, Lecturer at Yale School of Nursing and co-chair on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Maternal Mortality and Racial Disparities Task Force.
