The Conference for the Colloquium, held September 7-8, honored the work of the late , Frank Henry Sommer Professor of Law, by celebrating the Colloquium in Legal, Political, and Social Philosophy. In his welcome remarks, Dean noted that Dworkin convened the Colloquium with Professor of Philosophy and Law Emeritus from 1987 to 2011, and was joined in the early years by Lawrence Sager, now of Texas Law, and Edwin D. Webb Professor of Law , creating a series that became an important part of the intellectual life at the Law School.

At the Conference for the Colloquium, Thomas Scanlon of Harvard University presented his paper ,” with University Professor and Professor of Philosophy and Law serving as commentator and Herbert Peterfreund Professor of Law and Professor of Philosophy as chair. Frank Michelman of Harvard Law School presented ,” with Sager serving as commentator and Frank Henry Sommer Professor of Law as chair. Seana Shiffrin of UCLA School of Law presented ," with Murphy serving as commentator and University Professor as chair. Finally, Joseph Raz of Columbia Law School and King’s College London presented while Waldron served as commentator and Scheffler as chair.
