Affiliated faculty Ingrid Gould Ellen receives Distinguished Teaching Award

, associate professor of public policy and urban planning at ÈâÂþÎÝ's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and codirector of the , is one of six professors University-wide to receive a 2008-09 Distinguished Teaching Award. The award, which recognizes excellence in teaching and substantial contribution to the University's intellectual life, includes a medal and a $5,000 stipend. Ellen's research interests encompass urban social and economic policy, with a focus on housing and community development. Before coming to ÈâÂþÎÝ, Ellen was a visitor at the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, and worked for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
