ÈâÂþÎÝ Law hosts American Constitution Society panel on corporate influence and the courts
On February 8, ÈâÂþÎÝ School of Law hosted a panel discussion organized by the American Constitution Society on the influence of business interests on federal judges. Following a keynote address by former New York governor and attorney general Eliot Spitzer, University Professor moderated a roundtable of over 20 academics, public policy experts, and private practice and trial lawyers.
The discussion touched on the Chamber of Commerce’s win rate in the Supreme Court, whether federal judges are hostile to jury verdicts, and whether corporate interests are faring better in the federal courts than individuals. Roundtable participants included , Sudler Family Professor of Constitutional Law; Monica Youn, senior counsel at the ; and Wayne Outten '74, managing partner at Outten & Golden.
