Friedman op-ed published by the Los Angeles Times

In an on January 15, Vice Dean argued that the U.S. Supreme Court was wrong to bar video coverage of California’s Proposition 8 trial on same-sex marriage. “Like the Scopes ‘monkey trial’ with which it is sometimes compared,” Friedman wrote, the Proposition 8 trial  “is not a legal case in the strict sense. It is a morality play aimed at all of us, speaking in a sense for all of us, and we should get to hear it."

Friedman, who is also Jacob D. Fuchsberg Professor of Law, is the author of , published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in October.
