Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, delivered the international keynote lecture at the 2008 Global Economic Policy Forum on April 14, 2008, at the ÈâÂþÎÝ School of Law.
Dr. Donald B. Marron, senior economic adviser on the Council of Economic Advisers; Tevi D. Troy, deputy secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Kevin M. Warsh, member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, participated in a domestic policy discussion prior to the keynote lecture.

These experts visited ÈâÂþÎÝ at the invitation of the Center for the Study of Central Banks and the Global Economic Policy Forum, co-chaired by , Stuyvesant P. Comfort Professor of Law, and Alan N. Rechtschaffen, Adjunct Professor of Law.
The Global Economic Policy Forum brings together government, economic and academic leaders to discuss issues of economic policy and the capital markets. Through an open exchange of ideas among policy makers, scholars and market participants, invited guests are provided with an inside look at the future of economic policy, regulation and capital market activities.

April 11, 2007: Ben S. Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System's Board of Governors, Speaks at the ÈâÂþÎÝ School of Law
Bernanke's speech, "Financial Regulation and the Invisible Hand," focused on how to ensure the best balance between government intervention and free-market discipline in creating incentive for commercial banks and hedge funds to moderate their financial risk. A separate panel on issues facing the economy included Stanley Druckenmiller, head of Duquesne Capital Management; Jeffrey A. Rosen, deputy chairman and managing director of Lazard Group; and Tevi Troy, deputy assistant to the President for domestic policy.
