Catherine Sharkey delivers a four-lecture series on tort law for the Brazilian Bar Association
On October 16 and 17, , Crystal Eastman Professor of Law, gave a series of four lectures on US tort law in Curitiba, Brazil, at the invitation of the Brazilian Bar Association ().
As part of the Third Symposium on Civil Responsibility: Compensation Claims in the United States and Brazil, she discussed tort litigation in the US, causation and issues of proof, damages, and case studies. Each lecture was followed by a debate, with a state appellate judge serving as a commentator. These were Judge Luiz Osorio Moraes Panza, Judge Lilian Romero, Judge Ângela Khury, and Judge Salvatore Antonio Astuti.
