The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) has named , a senior fellow at the Law School’s (ILI), a recipient of its This award recognizes privacy scholarship relevant to policymakers in the US Congress, federal agencies, and data protection authorities abroad. Rubinstein received the award for his paper titled “,” a comprehensive analysis of privacy regulation at the local level using recently enacted privacy laws in Seattle and New York City as principal examples.

FPF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing privacy leadership and scholarship. Rubinstein, who joined ILI in 2008, was previously an in-house attorney for Microsoft Corporation. His research interests include internet privacy, electronic surveillance law, big data, voter privacy, EU data protection law, and privacy engineering.
