The Supreme Court is mired in controversy. Public support has collapsed to the lowest level ever recorded in polls. One key reason: unfolding ethics scandals involving undisclosed gifts and dark money groups. Another: hard-right rulings from the Court’s supermajority on landmark cases regarding abortion rights, guns, and affirmative action. Americans deserve a fair and independent judiciary. Is it time to reform the Court? And what can the public, the media, and Congress do to bring accountability to this institution?

Please join us in New York on Friday, October 13, at 12 p.m. for a conversation with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), author of the new book, . As a leader on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Whitehouse has unique insights into these issues. He will be joined by the Brennan Center’s Michael Waldman, author of  and member of the Biden administration’s Presidential Commission on the U.S. Supreme Court. Whitehouse and Waldman will discuss important proposals for term limits and ethics reform with Kenji Yoshino, the Chief Justice Earl Warren Professor of Constitutional Law at ÈâÂþÎÝ School of Law.

Lunch will be served. The program will be followed by a book signing for The Scheme.
