APALSA is hosting a panel in partnership with Susman Godfrey for students to hear from Susman attorneys who have completed judicial clerkships. We'll be answering the following questions and more:
- What exactly IS a judicial clerkship? What will clerks do for the term(s) that they serve with a judge?
- What is it about judicial clerkships, generally speaking, that makes them so important in a young lawyer's career?
- When applying for clerkships, what are the most important factors to consider? Location; judge's political beliefs; state/federal distinction; docket; other?
- During this application process, what challenges might a minority student specifically face?
