How to apply

  1. Fill out an . Requests take approximately two to three business days to process. If you do not receive your ÈâÂþÎÝ ID within three business days, please email lawhousingadmin@mercury.law.nyu.edu for assistance. 
    • If you already have credentials, you must enter your information in the form to reactivate them. This is a requirement in order to deposit.
  2. Once you receive an ÈâÂþÎÝ ID number & NetID, and set a password your ÈâÂþÎÝ Home account. 
  3. :
    • If you're joining us for the first time, click the "Register" button on the top left & proceed to complete this page. If you already have an ÈâÂþÎÝ Law housing portal account, click "Login."
    • Once you're logged in, click "Housing Application" tab to begin.
    • Please note: Only available applications will be displayed on this menu. If you would like to request an apartment mate, please note that all roommates must apply individually and note their desired apartment mates on their applications.
  4. All summer applications require a deposit of $1,000.00. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Summer housing deposits must be made online via the . To submit the deposit online, once in the ÈâÂþÎÝ eSuite, applicants must click on the eDeposits tab. Please review our directions for submitting a deposit prior to applying.

A few things you should know:

  • All applications require a $1,000.00 deposit online via electronic check at the time of application using ÈâÂþÎÝ's E-suite. ÈâÂþÎÝ does not accept credit cards. Deposits must be done via , and you must allow up to 24 hours for your access to ÈâÂþÎÝHome to be authorized. International applicants should contact the for further payment options at 212-998-2806 (Menu Option "0").
  • Applications must be entered/submitted by the individual who is applying to live in ÈâÂþÎÝ Law housing. 
  • The SLNY program runs from May 25 to August 2. Priority will be given to those who apply for the maximum stay of 10 weeks. The minimum length of stay is 4 weeks. Shorter stays (4 weeks minimum) will be considered based on availability of space.
  • Housing Assignments are made based on the date the application is received and length of stay requested. Submitting an application does not guarantee placement. For those applying for the full 10 weeks, assignments will be emailed in mid-March. For those applying for less than 10 weeks, assignments will be emailed by mid-April. 
  • Individuals applying for studio occupancy units will be assigned by the completed date of the application. Applications for family units, due to the fact that the demand for these types of apartments exceed the supply, will be assigned by the completed date of the application and duration of stay.
  • Specific apartment-mates may be requested but cannot be guaranteed. 
  • A limited number of family and partner apartments are available.
  • All applicants must agree to the conditions of the Summer Living in New York Housing License.
  • Health Insurance is required to live in ÈâÂþÎÝ Law residence halls. The insurance company should be headquartered and operating in the US, with a US claims address and customer service telephone number. (International applicants who do not meet this requirement should contact Student Health Insurance) The insurance coverage should remain in effect for the entire period of your stay in ÈâÂþÎÝ School of Law housing, and  provide inpatient hospitalization benefits in the New York City area for both medical and mental health treatment. The plan should provide outpatient benefits in the New York City area (including coverage for office visits, outpatient mental health benefits and laboratory and radiology procedures). Coverage limited to emergency care does not meet this requirement. The maximum benefit payable under the insurance plan should be at least USD $250,000.00 per condition. Applicants must confirm that they have health insurance that includes the above recommendations, or other financial resources to cover their health needs while in ÈâÂþÎÝ summer residential housing.
  • In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, New York University will provide accessible housing for an applicant eligible to reside in School of Law housing.  All accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis according to documented disability-related need and prevailing standards.  In order to be considered for disability-related accessible housing, you must review the , complete the and return it to the Moses Center for Accessibility and Inclusive Culture, 726 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10003, ATTN: Reasonable Housing Accommodations. You can also call 212-998-4980(/voice/TTY). Information provided to the Moses Center for Student Accessibility is kept confidential and only will be shared within the University as is necessary to evaluate the request.
