Wireless

The wireless network at ÈâÂþÎÝ Law is part of ÈâÂþÎÝ's campus-wide network. Most laptops and mobile devices can connect and authenticate to the 'nyu' network.

To connect, select the 'nyu' wifi network and enter your ÈâÂþÎÝ NetID and password.  If prompted, click Connect or Continue to accept the security certificate.

Note: Some devices are not compatible with ÈâÂþÎÝ's wireless network because they do not support WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise (e.g. Amazon Kindle, Google Chromecast).  Those devices should connect to instead.

To connect TVs, game consoles, and other media devices such as an AppleTV or Roku, or any other wireless device that does not support the regular 'nyu' wifi network in the ÈâÂþÎÝ residence halls, refer to the below ÈâÂþÎÝ IT knowledgebase article.

Printers are not supported on any ÈâÂþÎÝ wifi network.

Troubleshooting Tips

Here are a few common solutions if you are having difficulties connecting to 'nyu'

  • Have you activated your ÈâÂþÎÝ account? If not, please head to and complete the registration process (it can take between 2-4 hours after registering or changing an ÈâÂþÎÝHome password to successful authenticate to 'nyu').
  • Have you recently changed your ÈâÂþÎÝHome credentials? If so, you will need to enter your current password to connect.
  • The majority of wireless issues can be resolved by removing 'nyu' as a known network and adding it again with the proper configuration by following the instructions below.

eduroam

ÈâÂþÎÝ participates in the eduroam global wifi network for academic institutions.  You can connect to the eduroam wifi network at any other participating institution with using your ÈâÂþÎÝ credentials.

To connect:

  1. Select eduroam from the list of available wifi networks.
  2. Enter your NetID@nyu.edu (e.g. abc123@nyu.edu) and your ÈâÂþÎÝ password.

Note: You should remove eduroam from your saved wifi networks before returning to the ÈâÂþÎÝ campus or your device(s) may connect to that instead of the regular ÈâÂþÎÝ wifi network which may limit your access to some online ÈâÂþÎÝ resources.
