Microsoft Office
Office365 Free for Students
Students are eligible to sign-up for a free Microsoft Office 365 for Education account which includes Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, and can be installed on up to 5 computers. This program is offered directly by Microsoft and should remain valid while you are actively enrolled as a student.
Sign up for an account using your ÈâÂþÎÝ Gmail address (e.g. netid@nyu.edu) at and follow the instructions in the confirmation e-mail to download and install Office 365 for Education.
Office Home Use Program
Full-time employees are eligible to purchase an Office Professional Plus license for $10, which includes Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Publisher. Students are not elligible for this program.
Login to with your ÈâÂþÎÝ NetID and password to purchase a license for Windows or macOS. Follow the instructions in the confirmation e-mail to download and install Office Professional Plus. Keep that e-mail for your records in the event you need to reinstall Office or get a new computer.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Full-time employees are eligible for an annual subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud which includes Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator, and many others. Students are not eligible for this program.

Antivirus
ÈâÂþÎÝ offers Malwarebytes anti-malware and anti-ransomware software to all members of the Law School community for their personally owned desktop or laptop. It is available for Windows and macOS only, ÈâÂþÎÝ does not provide licenses for Android or iOS. All members of the Law School community are strongly encouraged to install Malwarebytes on their primary personal computer, or whichever device is used for ÈâÂþÎÝ related business, including class related activities.

ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN
Some ÈâÂþÎÝ online services require the use of the ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN when access from off-campus. Visit for instructions to download and install the ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
Please read and follow all instructions carefully as you must change the default install options; failure to follow the instructions will cause the ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN to malfunction.
ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN now requires the use of ÈâÂþÎÝ Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
ÈâÂþÎÝ Virtual Computer Lab
Students can use the ÈâÂþÎÝ VCL from their laptops to access some ÈâÂþÎÝ-licensed software including, Microsoft Office, statistical applications, mathmatical applications, and more. Access to the ÈâÂþÎÝ VCL from off-campus requires the use of the ÈâÂþÎÝ VPN. Login to with your ÈâÂþÎÝ NetID and password to access the ÈâÂþÎÝ VCL.

Law School ITS provide the following standard suite of software on all Law School desktops and laptops.

Software Installation
Many software titles are available through Software Center (click the Start menu and begin typing Software Center to find and open it). Available software titles include Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc), EndNote, ÈâÂþÎÝ Box, Dropbox, ÈâÂþÎÝ Google Drive, Skype, and others.
If a desired software title is not immediately available for installation please contact Helpdesk. Additional software not available through Software Center may require manual installation by Helpdesk staff. Some software licenses must be purchased with individual departmental funds.
Software installation is done at the discretion of Helpdesk.
